OUR SERVICES INCLUDE

Holistic Dentistry – This is a term that has been applied to dental practices that take into consideration the effect that dental procedures may have on your general health, including the potential toxic effects of some dental materials. Dr Alannah Freer has been developing her dental practice around this concept since 1992, one of the first in Brisbane and continues to improve treatment techniques and services as new information and technologies become available.

Amalgam Removal –The safe removal of amalgam which is a combination of silver and tin plus other metals mixed with 50% mercury. Mercury is known to be a toxic heavy metal. We safely remove amalgam following the guidelines outlined by IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology) using Rubber dam, air filtration with mercury removal system and high vacuum suction to ensure contact with and inhalation of mercury vapour is greatly reduced.

Dentistry For Children – Dr Rachael Clem and Dr Alannah Freer are experienced in providing oral health care for children, especially those who may be a bit nervous. We have a purpose-built treatment room that is a lot of fun and very colourful. Our emphasis is always on building a foundation of trust with our littlest patients.

Fillings – Teeth require to be filled when they become decayed or when they have been damaged, cracked or broken. Some people are sensitive to the ingredients in certain dental materials and we aim to provide the safest dental materials available and continually are sourcing these products and technologies. We use latex-free gloves, latex-free dental dam and polishing cups. We use biocompatible filling materials including BPA–free resins from Germany.

Dental Cleaning – Oral hygiene appointments are essential to maintain healthy teeth and gums and we have a variety of cleaning technologies that reduce the discomfort of this procedure and at the same time give an outstanding clean with reduced cold sensitivity.

Teeth Whitening – A healthy smile is something we all enjoy but there are side-effects with some whitening products. We give advice on the short and long-term effects of the various tooth-whitening systems and offer a range of in-house tooth whitening as well as take home whitening kits.

Dental Crown and Bridge-work – All our crown and bridge work is Australian made by Hade Dental Laboratory Kenmore from certified Swiss and German dental materials. We have used Hade Laboratory since 1988 and continue to enjoy their outstanding service, as well as their precision fitting crowns, bridges and onlays. Their work is of the highest quality materials and is guaranteed to last.

Root canal – treatments are used as an alternative solution to extracting teeth that have died due to infection or trauma. Teeth that have become abscessed or infected as a result of decay or trauma should not be left untreated – even if there is no pain. Uncontrolled dental infections are known to be a factor or contribute to the severity of diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune diseases and pregnancy complications such as premature birth. The source of the infection must be treated and people have a choice to either remove the tooth or treat the infected tooth using root canal. Root Canal therapy is also called endodontics. It is essential that all canals are located, properly cleaned and sealed to avoid chronic infection within the canals that can affect your health. New technologies (ultrasonic and ozone disinfection) are now available that provide improved disinfection of canals. Teeth that have been root canal treated become brittle over time and often require a crown for protection.

Clear Braces

Adult orthodontics for select cases using clear aligners such as Clear Correct or Invisalign can be used to provide an alternative to old -fashioned metal braces. An appointment for a general examination is recommended to assess the health of the oral environment to ensure your suitability for orthodontic treatment. An impression is then taken and sent to the team at Clear Correct or Invisalign to estimate treatment length and cost.
